NAMI Seattle’s Stigma Free Seattle Event

Thank you to everyone who joined us on May 20th for our first Stigma Free Seattle event to stop the stigma of mental illness and celebrate Mental Health Awareness Month! We were inspired by you all and truly had a blast stopping stigma, being creative together, and diving into meaningful conversations.

A big thank you to our program participants! Joon Care’s Dr. Amy Mezulis joined us for an informative discussion on youth mental heath and how parents can support their children. Seattle Arts and Lectures’ youth poet laureate, Sah Pham moved us all with a few poems. Eric Dodd and Linus also read their poetry as part of the Youth Poetry reading. We  were honored to screen  Bright Eyed Entertainment‘s documentary “The Voice Inside” a project to bring awareness about schizophrenia and featuring NAMI Seattle Board Member, Joey Wilson.  Grooving for Good‘s Alex Wagner and Rolando Haynes de le Vega led an interactive  emotional intelligence talk, “Guessing Grief Game” to end our day.

Thank you to everyone who took time to volunteer before and during the event.

More than 20 amazing volunteers helped us make our very first annual Stigma Free Seattle event a big success! We want to say a huge THANK YOU to our dedicated event team for all their passion and hard work.

Thank you to The Vera Project for the very cool venue and support.

Thank you to our Stigma Free Seattle event sponsors!
