Become a Member

Become a member of NAMI Seattle today and add your name to the list of thousands raising their voices to demand services, support, and respect for the millions affected by mental health conditions. NAMI Seattle membership demonstrates your support for the important work being done at NAMI and helps us make our voice heard in Seattle, Olympia, and the nation’s capital.

NAMI Seattle’s Individual Membership rate is $40 annually, and additional contributions help us continue expanding our reach. We also offer Household Membership for $60 annually. A household consists of any individuals living at the same address.

Financial hardship should never keep anyone from our mental health movement – we have an Open Door Membership available to those with limited resources at a minimum contribution of just $5 per year.

Benefits of a membership include continued support of NAMI Seattle free programs to all those in need, a copy of our quarterly newsletter, first invitations to our Speaker Series events, the NAMI Advocate magazine, discounts on resources in the NAMI store, discounts at NAMI’s Annual Convention, full access to all the information and features on the NAMI website. Your membership with NAMI includes national, state, and local affiliate level access!

Volunteer

Volunteers are the heart of NAMI Seattle! Your gift of time and talent keeps our programs free and available to anyone who needs them. You can make a difference.

General Expectations for Volunteers

We ask that you be committed to NAMI’s vision of a world where all those impacted by mental illness know they are not alone, and are empowered to live a fulfilling life. Unlearning the damaging stereotypes and stigma around mental health that we may have grown up with can take time, and we ask that you engage in continued learning and introspection in this area. We do not discriminate based on race, ethnicity, immigration status, age, gender, sexual orientation, gender identity, socioeconomic status, visible and invisible disabilities, or any other demographic factor, and encourage people from a wide variety of backgrounds to be part of NAMI. We expect our volunteers to respect all identities and will periodically offer cultural competency workshops as part of continuing education for volunteers. We would like volunteers to be able to commit to at least a year at NAMI Seattle (although we understand the many factors that come up in life – we will do our best to work with your availability and whatever time you are able to give). Please fill out our Volunteer Application for any of the below opportunities or general interest in volunteering.
